Ine Van Balen ontwerpt momenteel een nieuwe voorstelling! 15 419ft.

Tijdens het weekend van 1 en 2 juli zijn de eerste publieke toonmomenten te beleven tijdens Dansand Oostende. De uiteindelijke creatie vindt plaats tijdens het Oerolfestival in 2018.

Een première in een uniek kader. Deze nieuwe voorstelling van choreograaf Marc Vanrunxt flirt met de grenzen van stem en taal en begeeft zich tussen spreken, zingen en dansen. Aan de basis ligt de monoloog mijn lichaam van u van auteur Paul Verrept. Hij vertelt over schaarste en verlangen, over verlies en een lange weg terug. Danseres Charlotte Vanden Eynde, mezzosopraan Els Mondelaers en beeldend kunstenares Katleen Vinck vullen het verhaal aan op scène. Veel lagen om te ontdekken, geen zintuig blijft in de kou staan.

Thanasis  Deligiannis is the artistic coordinator of a new international music-theater platform, as part of the second stage of the National Opera of Greece, RE-FUSE and the Gaudeamus Festival.

RE-FUSE hosts a research team from the the spring of 2016 to 2017 (about two years) in order to work on what music-theater can be today. The team's results will be presented in a performative way in the Spring of 2017. The main body of the team's work will be done online, with 4 workshops (live) throughout the two years. 

​

The team mainly consists of artists who are members of music(theater) ensembles. In a way we create a network about music-theater, sharing each one's experience and vision. The ensembles involved are Silbersee (NL), Slagwerk Den Haag (NL), I/O (NL), Vasistas (GR), Amorphy (GR), Ensemble Proton Bern (CH) and the artists have various backgrounds (performance, scenography, live electronics, conducting, dance etc.).

And yesssss… I’m lucky to be a part of this exciting Music-theater platform, called RE-FUSE.

In een beeldend concertparcours contrasteren, stuwen en inspireren muziek en beeld elkaar. Componiste Annelies Van Parys laat zich op haar beurt inspireren door Luc Tuymans’ Angel voor haarnieuwe werk Ah, cette fable op tekst van Gaea Schoeters. In navolging van Toshio Hosokawa en Vykintas Baltakas schrijft zij een compositie voor de Angel Room. Daarnaast kan je genieten van contrabassist Peter Jacquemyn en performancekunstenaar Sigrid Tanghe. Cellist Arne Deforce en tekstkunstenaar en kalligraaf Brody Neuenschwander sluiten af met een intrigerende en organische performance.
Vuurwerk verzekerd!

Samen met saxofonist Kurt Bertels creëer ik Ah, cette fable op deze boeiende avond in het Concertgebouw Brugge.

Guido Verelst is a freelance film director based in Belgium. The topics in his upcoming short film Skai Blue are the search for a better life and the freedom to love. Verelst wants to highlight the urgency surrounding the issues of homosexuality (still punishable by law in 79 countries, in 10 other countries, gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people are still sentenced to death !!!) and their political and social importance at this crucial moment in world history.

SKai Blue is the story about a Cameroonian gay man who has fled his country to seek a better future and it’s also a story about loneliness. Some of us seek love and sex through dating sites and apps. In this world of online relationships, we can all become asylum seekers, just like my Cameroonian friend, searching for a better life and the freedom to love.

​

Uitgangspunt van dit project is de compositie Three Voices van Morton Feldman, met drie stemmen waarvan één live gezongen is, en de andere twee op band zijn ingezongen. Voor de opname op de tapes wordt er samengewerkt met ChampdAction. Danseres Marie De Corte gaat in dialoog met deze driestemmige installatie en biedt als dansend lichaam krachtig weerwerk aan de monumentaliteit van Three Voices.

The opera Satyagraha by US composer Philip Glass, was staged in Sweden for the first time, opening on 14 September at Folkoperan in a co production with Cirkus Cirkör. The director Tilde Björfors is founder and artistic director of Cirkus Cirkör. Her previous works Wear it like a crown, Knitting Peace, Borders and Limits address subjects such as peace, borders, risks and opportunities. Her interpretation of Satyagraha further develops these themes and goes a step further in daring to believe in a peaceful path.
